Long time no see, David. Hope you’re doing well in the Philippines. I plan on writing more on the reasons for more support for Obama as the election unfolds, but I’m not on a crusade to convert anyone. I’ll continue this comment as a new post for the beneift of everyone else with the same questions.

Living overseas, I watch the election from afar but not really missing it much. What bothers me about Obama is the borderline hysteria some seem to have in their support of him. Convince me why I should vote for Obama. I must admit I am totally embarrassed by those emails that evangelicals keep passing around about Obama–talk about checking your brain at the door.

What’s your take on Ron Paul?

I’ve heard alot of my friends are pulling for him, but I don’t know too much about him. All I know is that his numbers are low.

PHEW! I thought I was going to have to call you on election day to figure out who to vote for!! Nothing like doubling your vote, eh?

On a more serious note, I have been watching a little of the presidential election process and it has been somewhat interesting. The biggest problem for me is that I can’t barely listen to anyone of them talk and take them seriously. It’s something about saying whatever to get elected, but then no one really knows what will happen when they are in office. I know most of what they are saying is “spin” as you call it, so how do you seperate that from their real message of “change” or whatever? I haven’t listened to enough of it, so my BS detector may not be as finely tuned as your’s, but I will keep trying. I don’t want to be the last one informed when Jesus comes again and I wasn’t watching the news!! Remember, you promised to give me a call if that were to happen!

I was defending W even through the last election. I am ashamed that I voted for him both times.

So many of your sentiments mirror my own very much.

And I feel exactly the same regarding Hillary..I can’t bear to think of Bill having another platform for his ego.
