This cracked me up. A kid confesses to his “devout” mother that he no longer believes in God, and the reaction is anything but “Christ-like.” Too funny but so sad it depicts so many.

That is pretty funny. How could we require something like that from somebody when it is a gift given only at God’s discretion? Sick!

Ouch! Since God, for my daughter, is pretty remote, this touched me. She returned home after some struggles and we set some boundaries. Attending church was not one of them. Our controlling behavior really comes out when we see people making unwise choices. I keep Rembrandt’s Prodigal Son as my wallpaper, trusting that He will bring her back. My job is to love her and I admit that is a challenge when she is so self-absorbed (at age 19). By the way, she has her own place now.

Funny and frightening at the same time.
